While autumn has just begun, the Austrian Alps have already been treated to an early snowfall, with some areas receiving meters of snow. After several sunny days, a new wave of fresh snow is expected towards the weekend.
In the yet-to-open ski resort of Kaprun, more than 30 cm of snow is anticipated. Ischgl and St. Anton, two of the largest ski areas in Tirol, are expecting over 20 cm of snowfall. Meanwhile, Hintertux and Sölden, both already open, are forecasted to receive around 10 cm.
Ischgl’s ski season starts on November 28, with an opening concert by Ellie Goulding on November 30. Kaprun will kick off its season on the Kitzsteinhorn as early as tomorrow.
